This will be Byron Rec’s first comic con event. We have other successful events and shows, including our Women’s Expo & Craft Show in the spring! We aren’t entirely certain what to expect for this particular event since it is our first one, but other large events usually draw several hundred people. Additionally, we are a Community Center, so we regularly have people coming to the facility. So far our promotions include Facebook, website, GR Kids, Mlive, BCTV, plus the Comic Con was included as a full page ad in the Byron Rec winter brochure, which is sent out to everyone in the 49315 zip code (about 8,000 homes), plus more who pick it up directly from the Community Center.
The Rec Center was built in 2009, although the Parks & Rec Department for Byron Center has been in existence since 1971. With great support from the Township and the community, we have been able to offer great events at fair prices, as well as some free events. The Comic Con and Women’s Expo are both free shows for visitors to attend.
We are doing our very best to create a show that is fun for the whole family and can continue on for years to come. Be a part of this event and showcase all that it is that you have to offer. Booths are 9’x9′ and include a table and chairs, or you may bring your own setup. Each booth is just $30 and if you need access to an electric outlet, it is just $5 more. Plus we have free Wi-Fi access available to everyone. Additionally, we make it easy on our vendors by offering set-up the night before, as well as the morning of the event. Concessions will also be available.
